The Chat Pane displays the sender name, and chat and gesture emoticons (like smileys) for the currently selected chat mode. You compose text in the lower portion of the Chat Pane and click Send or press Enter to send the contents to others in the conversation. You can also send a gesture with your text by clicking on a gesture icon and selecting a gesture in the Gestures Palette.
