You can send and receive the following types of files via Virtual Places:

• VP gestures
• VP avatars
• other files up to 60K in size (with patch up to 125K)

• Drag and drop the file from the system file manager to someone else's avatar.
• Use the Send File option in the shorcut menu on someone else's avatar.

Using the Send File Option

1. Select the Send File option from the shortcut menu on someone else's avatar.

The Send File dialog box is displayed.

2. Select the type of file to send by clicking the appropriate option:

• If you select file, type the full path of a file that is up to 60K in size. Alternately, you can use the Browse button to browse the directory structure for the file.
• If you select gestures, type the name of a gesture file (file with vpa extension in the Gestures directory). Alternately, you can use the Browse button to open the Gestures palette to click on the gesture to send.
• If you select avatars, type the full path of a GIF file up to 5K in size. Alternately, you can use the Browse button to browse the directory structure for the avatar.

The file is not actually sent until the recipient accepts it. Note that if you change the file before the recipient accepts it, the file will not be transferred.
