You may wish to observe activities in Virtual Places before you start participating. You can easily switch between participating and chatting using the Enter/Leave Room option.

Entering the Room (chatting in Virtual Places)

1. Enter the room by one of the following:

• select Go, Enter Room
• click on the Virtual Places Indicator or select the Enter Room option on the Virtual Places Indicator shortcut menu
• press the Enter Room button on the Toolbar

2. Your avatar is displayed on the Web page and you can participate in Virtual Places activities.

Leaving the Room (observing)

1. Leave the room by one of the following:

• select Go, Leave Room
• select the Leave Room option on the Virtual Places Indicator shortcut menu or click on the Virtual Places Indicator
• select the Leave Room option on the shortcut menu on your presence
• press the Leave Room button on the Toolbar

You are now an observer. Many Virtual Places functions are not available in this mode, but you can still read messages sent to the room, and read and send Instant Messages.
