Installing the Patches

Those files will only work with the Windows95/98 version for VP.

INSTALLING:
To use any of these files download them to your computer and run them. Make sure you select the correct path of your VP software (the one entered is the default location :- C:\Program Files\Vplaces). Please note you CAN NOT be using the VP software while performing the update. You MUST close VP while doing this.

If you do not see the message "Congradulations! Your copy of VP is fully patched.", VP has not been patched correctly.


Anti-Boot Gestures:
There are alot of immature VP'ers here. Their idea of fun is passing out these "Boot Gestures" that cause your VP to crash, and even stop running. This patch will protect you from these "toys". I have tried it against all the boot gestures I found and was given without any problems.

UPDATE : There is a new gesture file out there that has defeated the patch. It was going to happen, just a matter of time. When a new version is ready, this will be announced.


Big AV's:
This will allow you to directly select a large ( 102 X 116 ) AV straigh from the normal AV selection window as if it were a normal AV.

Big Files:
With the advent of the "Big Dawg Gesture Compiler" a delma was born. This tool allows large gesture (92KB) to be created, however your VP software can only transfer files of 60KB - This makes didtribution of these gestures hard. This patch opens up the limit to 125KB alowing these gestures and other small files to be transferd easily.

Bubble Time:
Another problem with the large gesture is the sound can get longer and get cut off because the bubble time is too short. This patch will increase the bubble time by 150% so you can hear the whole wave file.

Gesturs in IM:
VP has this disabled in the Excite version, this patch allows you to once again use them. Like previous versions you will not hear or see the gesture, just see the text line. This is only useful for users of the EXCITE version of the VP software.
